Be still, and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

(Ps 46:10)

In the ‘busyness’ of this world, many followers of Christ claim their best fellowship with God is during their ‘drive time’ to work or while traveling.  While I am not dictating how a person should worship God, I do know that we need peace and solitude with Him on a daily basis.  “Being still” is important with all that is going on around us.  The television could be our worst enemy blocking communication with the Lord.  What is happening is that we are allowing ‘the world’ to seep into your hearts (sometimes flood) and at the very least, sharing our time with our Almighty Father 2 Cor 6:18 ).

Let’s turn off the TV and 'tune in' to God.

It is vital that we have a ‘quiet place’ such as a ‘prayer closet’ as Jesus told us to ‘enter into thy closet’ and ‘shut the door’ while praying ‘in secret to thy Father’ (Matt 6:6)Psalm 4:4 reads: Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.   How wonderful it is to find so many confirmations in the Bible regarding ‘quietness’ and our ‘private time’ with God, our Father.  While the Bible encourages us to pray together (Matt 18:19-20), God wants to hear from us individually.  He wants each of us who are ‘followers of Christ’ to “be still” and worship Him.

Let us make a time to “be still” with God not only a habit, but a daily tradition with the One who has set us free from sin by sending His ‘only begotten Son’ to pay for those sins.  Pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17). The benefits of quiet prayer and time with the Almighty God will far surpass all of the benefits and meager rewards of this earth.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

A special thanks to Daniel Gibson of Tennessee Valley Web Design for his involvement in promoting God's holy word and a safe stop on the internet.

Our Friend Daniel Gibson went home to be with the LORD on March 17, 2018

Without Danny the re-posting of this site would have been delayed for another year at least.  Glory to God for Him placing Dan in my path.
