FOUR STEPS TO A MORE SATISFYING LIFE

HUSBAND-AND-WIFE-YOUNG.jpg - 75.17 kBI am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly  (John 10:10b).

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil  (Pro 19:23).

There have been many books written on this subject which may or may not have helped those who are seeking a more satisfying life. So I am going to give you four (4) proven steps within five minutes of reading time, that will actually work if followed. It has worked for me and multitudes around the world. I know you’re excited, so let’s get started.

1. Turn your eyes upon Jesus:

Come out from among this world: As a follower of Christ, why are you so concerned with the “affairs of this life” when we are chosen to be a soldier in God’s army? (2 Tim 2:4). Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, (2 Cor 6:17). Let us all do what this verse instructs us to do. There is much evil going around today. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good (Rom 12:9).  We cannot be 'friends of this world' (James 4:4).   Remember, focus your life on Christ for a more satisfying life Look to Jesus.

2. Turn your eyes upon Jesus:

Rest and release your burdens: Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied (Pro 27:20). We can strive for riches, love, power, peace and satisfaction but none of this can be obtained without Christ. Jesus wants us to ‘learn of Him’ and find rest for your soul. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matt. 11:29-30). Give your burden to Jesus and turn your eyes upon Him. This world will bring you weariness and heartache but Jesus will bring you joy, peace and a satisfied mind. God will give you what you need. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19).  Trust Jesus alone (and none other -- He is Lord of all) for a more satisfying life.

3. Turn your eyes upon Jesus:

Hope and believe: Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God (1Pe 1:21). Christ died for our sins (1 Cor 15:3-4) and He is coming back to get us (1 Thess 4:17). We must work and continue to cling to that hope which He promised. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Tit 1:2).  Belief is needed.  The keeper of the prison holding Paul and Silas begged them saying, "what must I do to be saved?"

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house  (Acts 16:30-31).  Place your hope and faith in Jesus for a more satisfying life.

4. Turn your eyes upon Jesus:

Work and preach the gospel: We have the greatest message in the world in our hearts and on our tongues and we must share it with everyone we meet. Jesus said to Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). At no time in the past have followers of Christ had such an array of evangelistic tools at our fingertips (phone, internet, letters by mail, etc). We as “followers” must serve and obey (John 12:26). The majority of people in the world today are rejecting the gospel of Christ but we must keep preachingwide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (Matt 7:13-14). Many will not receive Christ at first but may on the second or third time. Don’t give up. I am glad that there were some that didn’t give up on me. God didn’t give up on you so why should you give up? We are to be harmless of doves but you must not worry about what someone will think of you because of your desire to win souls. None of us are entering a ‘popularity contest’, so there are some that will be offended regardless how gentle we are. It happens. By serving Jesus, you will have a more satisfying life. Turn your eyes upon Him in all you do and pray without ceasing for God to place the lost in your path (1 Thess 5:17).

By now, you have recognized the song “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” written by Helen Lemmel almost a hundred years ago. That sweet hymn is just as comforting and refreshing today as it was the day she penned it. Let’s look at the chorus and see the truths in this grand old hymn.  And that is to turn our eyes upon Jesus for a more satisfying life and not be so concerned with what is going on around us.  God knows exactly what is going on.  Trust HIM.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth, will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Amen!!

Dear friend, if you are reading this short message and do not have Christ as your personal Savior, or perhaps you do not understand what I have presented, please read further.

All of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23). Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh (John 1:1-3) came to earth as the perfect sacrifice to remove our sin debt. You must repent (turn from your ways) and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life (John 1:12-13). For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Think about this for a moment, Everlasting means forever.  Believe the Bible.  All these things are true. It has never been proven wrong.  It was written for you and me!

The Bible says: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Rom 10:9).

The very next verse reads: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10:10).

Sound too simple?? Jesus wanted everyone to understand – even me. Confess your sins to Christ and ask His forgiveness. He paid the cost and He is waiting (Rev 3:20). No man, no religion, no priest, no emom, no amount of money, and no amount of work will get you into heaven. Only Jesus. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me (John 14:6). With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation (Psa 91:16). Do this soon.  None of us know about tomorrow.  We all have an appointment (Heb 9:27).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
