So, I had a little fun with this message but I am very serious about it. We are living in an environment that can be full of stress and turmoil. The world seems to be collapsing all around us and that’s more than likely true. We are living in some terrible times if one wants to look at it in an “earthly” way. On the other hand, the Bible says that all of these stressful things are going to happen to us just before Jesus comes to get His church, who are Believers in Christ (1 Thess 4:16-17). As followers of Christ, we should be working and looking forward to His coming.
In (Matthew 24:4-14) Jesus speaks of things that are going to happen in the ‘end times’ and we are seeing them formulate today around us. There is violence in the streets in the cities, there is hatred, envy, and murder for no reason or for false narratives. The devil is working overtime to bring destruction in the nations of this earth. People are dying and leaving this earth without hope. Sadly, and most of all, the reason for it is that, there is NO FEAR OF GOD.
Many have stopped watching or listening to the news because it leaves them in a stressful and miserable mood. When the eye and the ear take in the filth and horrendous images going on all around us, it seeps into the heart. The word “heart” is mentioned over 800 times in the KJV Bible and it is at the center of our being. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matt 12:34b). What comes from the heart will usually come back out the mouth and shown in our actions. Our heart can be filled with love, hate, envy, bitterness, lust, sorrow, stress, and so much more. God knows our hearts and for us to be “right with Him” we must get our hearts right. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God (Acts 8:21). Stress will pull us from God and His teachings. We are more concerned with the ‘evil around us’ than we are Him. He does NOT want us to be stressed.
It is difficult to give all the glory to God when we are living in worry and stress. We are to be soldiers of Christ and strive to not entangle ourselves with the wicked affairs of this life (2 Tim 2:3-4). Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). We need Jesus in our lives to relieve and remove that Stress. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matt 11:30). We must take all our burdens (Stress also) to Jesus. As Christians, we fear God above all but He is waiting for us to give all of our problems to Him.
The Bible says, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Pro 9:10). If you have lost that fear of the Lord, you are walking in a dangerous place. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Pro 1:7). When one ignores God, he or she is classified as a fool. So turn your heart to Christ and give Him all of your problems, including the stress that comes along with this life. Are things wrong in this world? Yes there are things wrong. But there is little we can do to fix them on our own. So give them to Jesus and He will remove the stress that the world has given you. And His Treatment is FREE. He just has to hear from you.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof (Matt 6:33-34).
If you are still not sure, follow these instructions:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Rom 10:9). Call upon Him.
TRUST JESUS. The greatest stress reliever known to man.
Question:
What can we do regarding the people around us acting with such violence and hatred?
We can Pray for them. Please do that continually. And for our leaders also.
