WHITE TRASH

“And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth” (Gen 6:10).

Speaking of Noah’s sons (and daughter-in-laws obviously):

“These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood”

(Gen 10:32).

“White Trash” – What an infuriating term that has been tossed around for many decades. It was unjustly used a lot when describing southern white people who had little income. I recently heard the term being used by members of the new administration and many even in one of the political parties here in the U.S. Even the term “trailer trash” is used in political circles.  "Such arrogance and hypocrisy to do people this way".  A large portion of America’s population are hard-working, family loving citizens who do honestly whatever they can to raise their families under the freedoms that are provided under our constitution, or what remains of it.  By the way, a lot of the “white trashor "trashy" citizens included in this are people of color.  So this vulgar term includes “all of us working class people who struggle to make a living” and many just to make ends meet.  The vast majority of us were NOT born into wealth and privlige.  Hard work was the key.  But many judgmental individuals (in high positions and highly 'educated') who call others "white trash" or similar names tag them as 'stupid' or 'ignorant' in society.  They are so far from the truth.  We do not use the "N-Word" so why should we use the "WT-Word"?

Allow me to make two (2) points:

“The First point?”  Jesus said “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:30-31). Herein lies the answer. There is little love for one's neighbor.  Using a term such as “white trash” is the same as using the terms that were used for many black citizens many years ago.  Now it’s called “hate speech”.  All of these terms are demeaning and ‘de-humanizing’ to people of certain skin colors.  All colors: White, black, tan, yellow, brown, you name it. If we are to love our neighbors (a commandment our Lord Jesus made known to us) we should not judge an individual by their skin color. It is indeed “racist” by today’s definitions. Again, that goes for ALL RACES.

So our ancestors (even back to Adam) going back to Noah, means that we all have some similar DNA in each of us.   Answers in Genesis’ author Ken Ham wrote an eye-opening book several years ago, One Race One Blood**.  “Racial” characteristics account for only about 6 percent of this 0.2 percent variation (2%). That means that the “racial” genetic variation between human beings of different “race” is a mere 0.012 percent”.   In other words it is mostly skin pigmentation and some bone structure. We are of one creation. NOT one of us came from monkeys. Racism is a consequence of sin in a fallen world infused with evolutionary thinking.  When one places a derogatory label on any group of people, that person is a racist (or bigoted).

I notice there are many today who are ‘proud’ to be called “white trash” and that is certainly up to each individual.  Many jokingly make fun of this term. BUT, let’s look at the word “trash” for a moment. According to the Oxford dictionary: Trash:  1. waste material; refuse.   2. worthless writing, art, etc.  3. a person or people regarded as being of very low social standing.

No one should bear the title of ‘refuse’.
"Second and last point".

IF you are a “Follower of Christ”, a “Christian”, washed in the blood of the Lamb (John 3:3,7), you are in NO WAY ‘Trash’. You are of a “Royal Priesthood”.   You belong to Jesus Christ. He did not create Trash. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1 Peter 2:9 KJV). Whether you have a black skin color, a white or beige skin color, a tan or yellowish skin color, IF you are saved [received Jesus John 1:12] you are of a holy nation. You belong to the “holiest of them all”, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We are a “chosen generation” and NOT trash.

My Brothers and Sisters, in my opinion, this is nothing to make light of.  The Bible refers to us as “saints”. “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:” (Eph 1:1). I know we do not feel like “saints” but we are. Saint Bob, Saint Sally, Saint Phil, Saint Linda, Saint Lamar, . . . . But we are NOT TRASH regardless of skin color. We are royalty.

“But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:35). We all have a lot in common and we all fear God. I pray all people in our nation and the world will fear Him again. “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecc 12:13b).  It is our duty.  A piece of trash cannot glorify GOD.

Let us all, not in pride, but in humbleness,  thank the Lord for making us HIS. Although many on the “outside” may not understand this, we that belong to Christ, know that “God cannot lie(Tit 1:2). The Bible tells us this. If we read a little more in Ephesians, we see this. “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” (Eph 1:4). “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Pet 1:15-16).  I am not ‘beating anyone up’. Just something for us to think about.

Friend, if you are reading this and do not belong to that “royal priesthood” spoken about above, and you are not sure about your destination when you leave this earth, Jesus Christ, our Creator and Savior, is waiting for you to call upon Him (Rev 3:19-21). “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and REPENT. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne”.

Jesus wants you to trust Him and surrender your life to Him.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13).

Right now is a great time to do that.
