FORGIVE US LORD

Dear Lord God: I know there will be some to criticize me and tell me that our "sins are put away from us as far as the east is from the west". I understand that and the fact that Jesus took all of our sins upon the cross. But when I look at our nation as a whole, sin still abounds and many followers are allowing it and not calling it out. I am guilty also like many. You tell us to humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face and repent (2 Chron 7:14) and then You'll heal our land. [ Lord GOD, please allow my voice to speak for those in this nation who are ‘born again’ believers (followers of Christ), when I ask forgiveness as a whole ]. I understand that the majority of people in the United States do not know you in a personal way and we will be obedient in spreading the glorious gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. However, I ask You for Your forgiveness of things that we as followers, are lacking and keeping silent about. The Holy Bible tells us to call on other believers doing wrong. Yes, we are to judge. "For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?" (1 Cor 5:12). [ God lead us and guide us and keep us close in these times. We are so very sorry that our nation is treating you so disrespectfully. We thank You over and over again for our undeserved salvation through Jesus Christ who bled and died to pay our sin debt. Again, forgive us Lord and help us lead a life that is pleasing to You and that will glorify Your name in all that we do ].
Jesus spoke this from the cross: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do,“ (Luke 23:34a). Jesus was speaking for those who did not know who He was. We thank GOD for the cross and for God to send His only begotten, precious Son to pay our sin debt. As followers we have failed You by allowing prayer to be removed from our public school system over 50 years ago. We have failed you by allowing heathens and God haters to serve as leaders of this once great country. We have failed you by allowing ourselves and families to be brainwashed by the Hollywood filth coming into our homes via television and internet poisoning our children and “call evil good and good evil” (Isa 5:20) and our children are lapping it up like a cat laps up buttermilk. We have failed You by not instructing our children in Your ways. We have allowed perverted music to be blasted throughout the airwaves including so-called “gospel music” sung by people who shamelessly act, dress and live in filthy lifestyles while 'supposedly' giving credit to Jesus to allow them to do so. Many of who change out their husbands and wives every few years for a new model like buying a car. No different than the world.
Forgive us Lord for the 62 plus million innocent babies butchered in the womb in the past 6 decades by moms and dads who see a child as an inconvenience. We are no better than those who sacrificed babies to Molech centuries ago. We know that You hate “hands that shed innocent blood” (Pro 6:16-19) and yet we allow it to go on in our cities and even small towns by keeping our mouths closed while abortion / murder clinics are being set up in hundreds of cities and towns. And they hide the word "abortion" (we know it is murder) giving it clever handles like Pro-Choice with some are even wearing attire saying “I’m proud of my abortion”. And calling a precious unborn infant a "fetus" and now a "unit" or a "subject" of all things.
Forgive us Lord for allowing this filthy thing called “same sex” marriage to become laws in several states where sodomites are taking Your sacred marriage laws between a man and a woman and turning them into a perversion. Turn those in these filthy perverted lifestyles to You and cause them to repent of their sinful ways, and those who promote these abominations. Move them out of the way for those who refuse to repent and are causing others to sin.
Forgive us Lord for our worship of money putting mammon over all else and not putting our trust in You to supply our need (Phil 4:19) according to Your riches in glory through Christ.
Forgive us Lord for our racial hatred to others because of the color of their skin along with our jealousy and covetousness for what others have. Not just white on black but black on white. I am speaking for All of us. Very few are exempt. So Teach us how to love thy neighbor as we love ourselves (Mark 12:30-31).
Forgive us Lord for our inordinate pride and our stiff necks thinking we can do whatever we want and leave You out of the picture. “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” (1 John 2:16). We have allowed satan to turn our eyes away from You and on ourselves and we have made a mess of everything we touch, see, or taste. We need You more than ever in this wicked world.
"Lord, I know there is no way we can have a revival unless we, who are called by Your name, will humble ourselves, pray and seek Your face and repent". Lord God help us to turn from our wicked ways as in (2 Chron 7:14) “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
My Personal Prayer:
All of us are guilty Lord and starting with me. Build me into a better man worthy of serving our Lord and Creator, Jesus Christ better, with every ounce of my heart and soul. I love You Jesus and I know I have failed you and done You wrong at times; I know my sins are forgiven (Rom 10:13) but please help me as I need Your perfect guidance which will lead to a more pleasing life for You and a more fruitful and joyful life for me. I long for the day when I hear You say “well done my good and faithful servant”. What a "glorious day that will be!"
