JUST ONE MORE

Reading a quote from a book about Alice Shevkenek, made me examine my walk as a believer a little closer. ‘Think about this for a moment’. India Quote: I said to God, “Send me where no one else wants to go. He did. She went to remote villages in India by bus, motorcycle and bicycle rides with strangers, and even by bullock cart, crossing rivers and mountains. She lived in places with no furniture except a bed 4×2 feet, full of bed bugs and lice, rats running over, landing on her face, and once she woke up to find one nibbling at her big toe”. Not even Indians who have been living in India for their whole life would like to visit these places, so I can truly understand and appreciate her service for the Lord.
How far are we willing to go to win “One More Soul” for Christ? When I read this quote I felt a little 'small' as we still have freedom to preach the gospel here in America but the "laborers are few". (Matt 9:37). How much longer will that freedom last? I do not know, but God's word says we're close. We all have read of thousands who gave their lives for the ‘cause of Christ’ and each of us know how fortunate we are in this country. So where are the laborers? The big question for any follower of Christ is: Are you willing to ask God to place “Just One More” in your path? Are you ready to tell God to send me? Jesus spoke this to His disciples, "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest" (Matt 9:37-38). “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). This is a command from Christ Jesus to all of us.
Christ died for our sins (1 Cor 15:3-4). We all know that He has already 'paid the price'. So shouldn’t we prepare ourselves and go? The answer obviously is “yes”. Frankly, I do not know for sure if even 5% of those I have spoken to over the years, have received Christ in their lives (John 1:12). (I told them, even though some no longer speak to me - that happens at times). That is on God's side of the ledger. I do know there are many ‘say so’ Christians (Matt 7:21-22) who have no intention of coming out of this world. "Wherefore come out from among them . . . and I will receive you" (2 Cor 6:17). Life is too comfortable for some, and many others are willing to compromise on sin. God’s word, the Bible, warns us about that. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rom 12:2). "Believer, warn them".
The lost are all around us. Jesus said “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matt 7:20). And NO, you are not judging. God gives us discernment. If one feels they are lacking wisdom and discernment, they need to ask. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). It all boils down to a matter of saving a soul from hell, even just 'one at a time'.

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Pro 11:30).
