“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”  (Acts 17:11)

Graph (Blue portion) represents 15 minutes per day of prayer time with God

How much time do we spend in prayer with God? Or any time with God?

I was led to make this little graph several years ago. God allowed it to have an impact on others as well with myself. My Point? We tithe our money but how about our time with God? Just a thought. I can give you hundreds of verses in God’s word regarding ‘time with God’ and ‘honoring God with our substance’ but the simplest and most effective is what Jesus said. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matt 22:37) (Deuteronomy 6:5)

We as believers get caught up in the world at times especially in these times when satan is wreaking havoc in the world like we’ve never seen before. As Christians we must be vigilant in the events that are occurring on earth. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8). These events, or happenings should lead us to be in prayer more with the Almighty God. His desire is to hear from everyone of us. “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous” (Pro 15:29). Again, God desires fellowship with us by prayer. He will listen.

Christian: Can you free up a little more time with God?  Here are a few suggestions.

I know we can think of many more.

Give up 30 minutes of TV time.
❏   Reduce one’s golf / recreation time 30 minutes.
Reduce Face Book / Social media and phone time 30 minutes (turn all devices off).
❏   Reduce secular magazine reading by 30 minutes.

There.  We freed up a couple of hours.  In everything we do let's ask ourselves,

"How does this glorify God?"   Remember, we were purchased by Him (Acts 20:28).

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's” (1 Cor 6:20).
