THE OTHER SIDE

"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10).
There were times way back in my old life, those times I did lament.
Being raised up as a heathen, some wicked times that I had spent.
But knowing now of many, who knew Christ from just a child,
From Godly homes, and parents, not confused nor lost nor wild.
How precious those times, must have been in their lives,
Growing up with the Savior, and even choosing their wives,
from their church congregation, knowing their love for the Lord,
And even raising their children, in that same accord.
As for myself, a ‘later comer’, around age, thirty-two,
I repented and received Jesus, and He changed me, all anew.
Although I sewed some evil seeds, the old life was full of sin,
Lord Jesus cleansed and saved me, to start my life again.
He sought me on the other side, He knew that I was lost,
But His love for me was great, and He paid a dearly cost.
I praise His name with all my heart, to Him I do belong,
And sing Him praises in my heart, with a thankful, joyful song.
But so many take for granted, our Lord’s greatest gift to all,
and seem to live without a caring, for the troubled, hurt and lost.
Rejoicing within themselves, for their salvation is secure,
but many neighbors, friends and family, are hell bound, and that is sure.
I pray for God's protection, for all believers in Jesus Christ.
But I pray they'd have a vision, for the other side of life.
For those living without meaning, no direction, joy or hope,
and those living for this world, some at the end, of their short ropes.
I’m glad now that I've seen, what was on the other side.
I now serve a loving Savior, and there's not a thing I have to hide.
But still I’m saddened for the lost, how they live, and how they strive,
Seems the goal in their empty lives, is to simply, just survive.
Lord please touch the hearts, of your children if they're real,
show them the other side, so in their hearts, that they may feel,
the compassion and the love, the example You've shown for all,
and lead the lost to Jesus, and let them hear Your call.
And thank You again, from this old man, for the time on the other side.
For I know that You’re my Savior, and within me, You reside,
My lips will speak Your holy name, always lifting it on high,
even tho some bitter lessons, were learned on, the other side.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor 5:17).
