“Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts”   (2 cor 1:22).

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28).

• How do I know for sure?

• How can I be certain that I’m saved?

• I was told that I can lose my salvation. • Is this true?

How many times, as believers, have you heard statement such as these? It is my guess, a lot. Mostly coming from new conversions or those with a false salvation. Jesus told us many times in His word that we are saved and secure when we believe and receive Him (John 1:12) as Lord and Savior of our life. He said “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand” (John 10:29). Can you ever imagine that God the Father would give something to His only begotten Son and then take it away?   Neither would I.   When we receive the Holy Ghost we are sealed. “whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption” (Eph 4:30b)( I might add, that every person that I know who has 'received Christ as their Lord and Savior', wanted to get baptized quickly.  Me too. *** ).

There are many ‘false prophets’ and ‘false teachers’ in the world but there is One you can count on and that is your Creator, Jesus Christ. He has promised us not only salvation, but throughout His holy word, He has promised us security. “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” (Matt 24:11). Jesus is talking about then and now.  The Holy Spirit (Jesus inside of us) is sealed within us who are believers. Belief is a must. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31). “believe in thine heart” (Rom 10:9). Salvation is between God and the individual receiving Christ as their Savior. If anyone has doubt, perhaps looking at 2 Cor 13:5 will help. Perhaps a ‘self examination’ is in order.

“for him hath God the Father sealed”   (John 6:27b).

Now then;  Let’s get to work.

***  And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?   And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God".   (Acts 8:36-37) KJV
