“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”
(1 Thess 5:16-18).

Life on earth if full of pitfalls, some seemingly incomprehensible; but as believers, we know that our Savior is near, and is coming soon. The greatest joy in our lives is our salvation, along with the blessed opportunity to serve God, while on earth (see John 12:26). Our Father knows our every need (Matt 6:8). Knowing that we are purchased through the blood of Jesus Christ at a precious price, our desire should be to glorify Him (1 Cor 6:20). Showing reverence and being thankful to our Heavenly Father is the state in which we should live daily. We are called to be soldiers in this life (2 Tim 2:4) and thankful to be chosen.

You can’t find anything to be thankful for? Here’s another one. When I place my feet on the floor, after I awake in the morning, I know that God kept me through the night, with my heart beating 20 thousand times, circulating life-giving blood through my body while sleeping. That alone causes me to thank my Creator for this miraculous event. Giving thanks to God in Christ Jesus is easy when examining things that many take for granted.

Jesus’ last command was for us to go and preach the gospel (Mk 16:15).

Shouldn’t it be our desire to serve Him joyfully, with thankfulness and prayer continually?

“O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”
(Ps 30:12b)
