Christmas in a Time of Trouble

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
This may seem like an odd Christmas message however, it is focused on those who have placed their trust in the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With all of the turmoil going on in the world today, so many are looking for a human savior. We that search and understand the scriptures, know that this figure will be the anti-Christ mentioned in the Holy Bible. As followers, we do not look for him. We look for Jesus. That is our Christmas. While some of us may have differences, we all know that “unto us a son is given.” Jesus our Lord who has given us peace among the strife of this wicked world.
Let us be bold in our preaching, kind in our loving, strong in our witnessing and generous in our giving, especially this time of year. We are not looking for a solution, we’re looking for a Man. That Man is our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, our blessed Hope. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:13-14)
Let us fearlessly continue our work for Jesus and proclaim Him boldly this Christmas season, and let not your hearts be troubled. May the Almighty God bestow upon you blessings abundantly while we are “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;” (Heb 12:2a).
Even so, come, Lord Jesus (Rev 22:20)
