I’m Offended

“It were better for him that a millstone were

hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”   (Luke 17:2)

Aren’t we tired of hearing of how “offended” people are of Christians and the Bible?  Well, I’m offended also.  As horrid events and times permeate the airwaves today regarding ‘trans-holidays’ and perverted ‘sodomite marches’ here and around the world, promoted by evil people and governments, we as followers of Christ, Christians, are offended of what satan and his huge army is doing in trying to destroy the Deity and Holiness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God’s name is being blasphemed throughout the media and our children are being subjected to evil wherever they turn and being hunted by evil predators.   As Believers, we are offended because our Father in Heaven, our Creator, and our Messiah is being tried, convicted, and ‘hung out to dry so to speak’ by ‘hell bound’ heathens who will have their part in the “lake which burneth with fire and brimstone” (Rev 21:8). Yes, the Bible, not me, tells us of their frightening plight.  "Thanks be to God for His unspeakable Gift."  (2 Cor 9:15)  When we received Jesus (John 1:12) we were rescued from this terrible place.  Praise God! Our God is Omnipotent (All Powerful), Omniscient (All Knowing), and Omnipresent (All-Present at all times).

Some have told me that ‘God can take care of Himself’ and obviously, we know that. Nonetheless, we are angered with righteous anger (Eph 4:26) and more offended by these because they prey on the weak and unlearned.   Our love for the Lord is unwavering. We as God-people, are His soldiers (2 Tim 2:4) and will not fear what man (and the devil) can do unto us. (Heb 13:6 - Ps 118:6)  We fight on our knees in our prayer closets because we know that is where God wants us, “in the trenches.” We know to never “give place to the devil.” (Eph 4:17)  And so we act and pray accordingly. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Lk 1:37)

I feel that God is not interested in an occasional ‘prayer in the air’.  My feeling is that God will not hear some of our ‘weak and feeble, Barney Fife’ praying because our lips may be moving, but our hearts are not in the process.  (John 9:31) He wants us to commune with Him and take time for Him. Please know that I am guilty of this as possibly some of you. “God forgive me.” “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (Jas 5:16b)  The word 'Fervent' means ‘boiling’ in some definitions. We have the power! God is on our side. But our prayer life has to be mighty if we are to be mighty.

“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” (Jas 4:3)   “Lord God make us prayer warriors that we may be pleasing to YOU.”  King David prayed the following regarding his enemies: “Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.” (Ps 35:6-7) Personally, I don’t have a problem praying this as satan is attacking so many on a daily basis. The ‘wicked’ was after David’s soul back then and the devil’s army is still active.

Want to see ‘victory’? Let us unite in prayer continually.
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess 5:17)
