If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free   ye shall be free indeed.   John 8:36

 FREEDOM !!

As many in America celebrate Independence Day around the 4th of July, we must all understand that all Christians (followers of Christ) around the world, not just in the United States, can celebrate a special Independence Day and that is the day they surrendered their lives to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Believers (followers of Christ Jesus), there was a day when each of you asked Jesus into your heart and repented of your sins. That is the day you no longer were a slave to sin. The day that you made the decision to serve Christ and not this world (2 Cor 6:17), that became your day of freedom.  John 8:34 states: Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. Our sins must be recognized by us as “missing the mark,” or an act that is ‘reprehensible to God.’ When we act on the desires of our own heart without regard to the Almighty God, we are in sin. We are “missing the mark” and are not pleasing to God, our Creator. We are all placed on earth to glorify God (1 Cor 6:20) and we must do so with all our heart, our soul, and our mind (Matt 22:37).

We as ‘followers of Christ’ know that ‘all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23)’ and that is why we rejoice in our ‘freedom’ – or freedom from sin and eternal destruction. When we celebrate our freedom, it means we no longer have to have that debt ‘hanging over our heads’ so to speak. We are debt free and are now servants of the Most High God who loves us and cares for our souls (John 3:16). Our celebration day should be every day that we have on this earth.  We all pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are suffering persecution for Christ's sake however, most of them know that it is a small thing for a short time (1 Peter 3:14) even though some of these sufferings are horrendous.  Many of these men and women truly are "heroes in the faith."  Pray for them daily.

As we read in Rom 6:18 we see: Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Oh how glorious it is to be now servants of righteousness instead of servants of sin. Oh how ‘glorious’ is our God to provide the Way for all of us to have “FREEDOM FROM SIN.” And oh how gracious and glorious our Lord God is because of His compassion and love for all of usWe have received the greatest gift to man and that gift is Jesus Christ (John 1:12), our Savior and LORD. So should we celebrate our freedom??  Amen!!  We should all celebrate every day for the freedom we have been given, all around the world. Jesus has made us “free.”  We know the ‘truth’ through His word and it has made us free (John 8:32). Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him!

Is it possible that you are reading this and are burdened with troubles, worries, and sin? And everything seems to be going wrong in your life?  Have you been searching this earth for answers from someone to free you of these burdens?  You’ll only find it in a “living Christ” who will receive your burdens if you ask (Matt 11:29-30). There is no need to carry those burdens by yourself.  Real Freedom from sin and worry is through Jesus Christ (John 8:36). The Bible’s words are pure and true. Start by asking our Lord Jesus for forgiveness and admitting your sin. Repent and turn to Him.  And get in your Bible - the answers are in there.  I tell you this because I was in your place one time in my life and I thought money would be the answer but it was Jesus Christ who rescued me and removed my burdens.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10:9-11).  Let us all celebrate our freedom together.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom 10:13)
