But whom say ye that I am? Matt 16:15 WHO_SAY_YE_THAT_I_AM.jpg - 36.47 kB

Tragically, there are multitudes of mockers and skeptics in these last days, stating that Jesus was just a prophet, or a teacher or a shepherd. Some even say that He doesn’t exist and never has existed; a fictional character or a myth. Many scoffers today not only reject but laugh and mock the name Jesus Christ.  Viewing most television shows or movies and you'll see His name being blasphemed hourly - even in supposedly 'childrens' shows.'  Please take a few minutes and seriously examine just these three points with a few scriptures from the Bible.

1. Jesus is the Son of God (and Creator)
2. Jesus is the Savior of the world
3. Jesus is the Judge of all humanity

Many more points can be made but I’ll just focus on the following to illustrate to you that Jesus is God in the flesh (according to the scriptures). Always was and always will be.

1. Jesus is the Son of God: [ Jesus is GOD the Creator ] (John 1:1-3)

When Jesus had come to Philippi with His disciples, He asked them the important question, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” (Matt 16:13) (Now our Lord already knew what men were speaking and thinking but as always, He was teaching them). “And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets”. (Matt 16:14) He saith unto them,  But whom say ye that I am? (Matt 16:15)

Simon Peter had at times placed his foot in his mouth so to speak, but he was a bold man. We find that out throughout the scriptures later on. This time God revealed it to him. Jesus knew Peter’s heart. “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered and said unto him, “Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.

Please understand, Jesus is the foundation of the church, and NOT Peter or any other man.  Jesus said He would build "MY" church.  In other words, the church is built on and around Jesus. He is the Son of God.  John 10:30 “I and My Father are One.”  He made that clear.

2. Jesus is Savior of the world.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

“For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 12:47b). While He was on the earth, Christ was here to save, and not to judge. There is a time, coming soon, that He will judge the world. Now He saves.  And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14). He will still save presently (Rom 10:13).

"And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14).

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

3. Jesus is Judge in the near future.

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48).

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son”: (John 5:22) The Lord is letting us know that He will judge those who reject Him on earth.

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;” (2 Tim 4:1)

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them” (Rev 20:11-12) (Rev 20:15).

Jesus will judge all that have rejected Him. All should read these verses. (Rev 20:13-15) He fulfilled over 30 prophecies and allowed Himself to be killed (murdered) by man. He has shown us in His word, the Bible, that He is the Christ and the Son of God. He is God in the flesh.

There are only two ways in which to choose. You have to make a choice, either way.

He is either a ‘Liar’  /  or  /  He is the Creator - or God.

It is your choice whether to believe Him or not.

You may live your life apart from Christ and be part of this world (which is only for a short while)
OR  you can repent from your sins (Luke 13:3) and Receive Him (John 1:12) and serve the Lord (John 12:26). If you choose the latter, you will live forever with Him.

If you make the choice to live for yourself in this world and reject the ONE who has died for your sins, please read these chapters in the Bible (Rev 21:8) (Rev 20:15).

When Jesus asked the question, “But whom say ye that I am?”, know that He is the ‘real thing’ as we say in today’s terms.  He is the most important 'Figure' in all of our lives.

Please Trust Him Today! And come out from among them (2 Cor 6:17)

Confess / Believe / Repent / Serve (Rev 21:7)

Please do not ignore the One and only God of the universe.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.   (Rom 10:9-10)
