“one thing I know, that,
whereas I was blind, now I see.” *

I’m Glenn Renville from Sisseton, South Dakota. As a child of 4 years old, I attended the South Dakota School for the Blind in Garry, SD. Our school moved to Aberdeen, SD where I attended for 5 years and then I ended up dropping out of school.
I attended the Baptist Church at Aberdeen but did not give my life to the Lord. I then moved to Minneapolis, MN hoping to get a good job. Unable to get work I turned to the bottle. After several years of constant drinking, I got thrown out of a bar. Not knowing where to go or seeing any purpose in life, I stood on a street corner crying and thinking about suicide. With the little sight that I had, I noticed a shining object a long way away. After squinting and staring at it, I noticed that it was a cross.
Immediately I thought to myself, this is the place I can go to get help. So I started that way. Blanking out, I somehow arrived at a Catholic church. I went into the church 3 different times and all 3 times the priest kicked me out. The policeman took me back to the bar each time.
The last time I bought a bottle of beer, it seemed to take less and less to get me drunk. I believe my Lord even then, was rescuing me from a life of sin.
Years later I was invited to a church revival. I had two choices! Go to the liquor store or go to the revival. I’m so thankful I chose the revival. After the preaching service, there was an altar call given. It felt like someone took me by the arm and walked this rebellious sinner toward the altar. When I realized that I was halfway there, I looked up and said, “Okay Lord, I am coming to You, just as I am.”
One year later I was called into the gospel ministry and have pastored several churches. I am so thankful for the privilege to serve my Lord and Savior.
