Fred Igert - Personal Testimony
Fred Igert

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Col 3:23

Hello, my name is Fred Igert, ex-alcoholic, ex-thief, ex-convict and everything that is wrong. Along with being a high school dropout, I received an undesirable discharge from the army and then became a convict. But on a beautiful sunny day in August 1974, I met Jesus and He forgave me of all that I had done. When everyone had given up on me, Jesus said He could bless and use me. He called me to be a Sunday School teacher, when I couldn’t even read which resulted in 15 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School. Then He called me to be the youth leader in our church. Most people weren’t sure about that but our God blessed the youth and me. We ran 135 youth for many years.

Then the Lord called me to start a church without knowing anything about how to do it. But His wisdom was all I needed. For 15 years we worked with street kids and still today the church is made up of mostly kids.

Then the Lord called me to go to the Indian Reservation at Lower Brule, South Dakota, and build them a church building. We had very little money or resources but we had the most important one, Jesus.

My testimony is 42 years long with many things to tell, but for all who will listen I say this; I saw the lame walk, the deaf to hear, the blind to see, and the dead to arise. What a beautiful walk with Jesus, I’ve had and do have.

I love you in Jesus and you can have the same.

Fred
