My Mansion - Gary Waddell 2012
I've read what the Bible says about Heaven, but I'm not sure of every aspect.
So as a poet, allow me to take this liberty. Regardless, I know it will be beautiful and perfect.
And Jesus will be there.
Jesus said “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3
I’d like to share my thoughts with you.
Come and see me at my mansion – that my LORD has built for me
The grass is much like velvet – and the garden’s full of trees
The air is sweet with fragrance – like none, I’ve ever known
And the light, that Jesus gives – illuminates my home
The street up to my driveway – is paved with pure gold
You’ll hear no passing cars and trucks – And if I may be so bold
My garden is pruned perfectly – A realtor’s delight
An array of flowers, blowing in the breeze – and because there is no night
You’ll enjoy them every minute – oh how pleasing to the eye
No thorns or thistles grow here – under His brilliant sky
The lightning bolts and thunder – I saw and heard on earth before
Are never seen or heard from – here on God’s great golden shore
I have no job to go to – no more sweat, or toil or pain
No blistering heat and freezing cold – no storms with driving rain
I now talk with my Savior – and I sing Him many songs
Of all the places, I lived before - it’s here where I belong
So come see me at my mansion – He’s built one for you too
Trust in what, the LORD has done – He’ll make your life anew
And when you get to heaven – with a mansion of your own
You’ll understand my bragging – of my precious heavenly home
