His Call

 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,   

2 Tim 1:9

 Nigh is the time, for all to ask  •  What lies ahead, what comes to pass.

The truth I have sought, much of my years  •  I found in Him, through bitter tears.

A gracious Savior, and loving God  •  Waits at the end, where my feet have trod.
With arms open wide, forgiving all  •  He saw my troubles, He heard my call.

When I turned my back, on this world below  •  And sought His mercy, this I know.
A trusted Friend, is my LORD indeed  •  He knew my thoughts, He knew my needs.

He saw me waver, He saw me stray  •  Just like a lamb, who lost his way.
My Shepherd came, and rescued me  •  He gave me sight, so I might see.

He sought me out, I heard His call  •  A drafted soldier, standing tall.
I worry not, what life may bring  •  I praise Him now, His song I sing.

But now’s the time, my hair is gray  •  My movement slower, each passing day.
My faith is strong, but my knees are weak  •  At times my voice, is slightly weak.

To stoop and pray, on bended knee  •  I give Him that, since He saved me.
He helps me rise, to go to bed  •  He gives me sleep, for the day ahead.

So what lies ahead, I do not know  •  I’ll keep working for Him, down here below.
He’s made a place, for me you see  •  My home with Christ, eternally.

My journey, long, my road’s been rough •  I have His grace, and that’s enough.
My friends are few, but all in all  •  I’m truly blessed, to get His Call.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  

And I give unto them eternal life;

and they shall never perish,  neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 

John 10:27-28

Lord Jesus, I owe it all to You.
