Accommodating Sin

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:
Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ” (Read 1 Cor 6:9-10)
Two definitions of the word accommodate is to settle, or compromise. When one ‘Accommodates Sin,’ they are actually making sin acceptable. A Television ‘preacher’ made the following statement. “It doesn’t matter who likes you or who doesn’t like you, all that matters is God likes you. He accepts you, he approves of you.” The man wrote this in his last book. In a follow-up interview, he was asked if that included homosexuals (sodomites) and he said “Absolutely.” Those of us who read God’s word know that God will not allow these practicing sinners into the kingdom of God. This “feel good” preacher is accommodating sin to retain his huge following. ($$) “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: . . . ” (1 Cor 6:9-10)
This man may be sincere, but he is wrong. There are things that God hates. "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." (Pro 6:16-19)
The Bible is explicit in this matter and speaks about sin throughout this wonderful book. They will not enter the kingdom of God. The Almighty and righteous God will NOT accept a sinful lifestyle nor does He approve of it. God does not allow sin into heaven. Jesus said “except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) Perhaps we all should heed our Lord’s warning.
Friends, we have far too many “seeker friendly” and “carnal” churches wanting to accommodate listeners with “non-abrasive” messages. My hope is that we get back into the God-honoring business and stop using carnal means to reach the lost. Paul said “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Cor 11:14) Many are “hitching their wagons” to every “feel good message” they hear. Satan loves to stroke the “prideful fur” of those who are followers of false teachers, like one would stroke the fur of a kitten sitting in their laps to make them feel comfy. Let’s fervently pray for those who are being mis-led and those who are preaching the “accommodating gospel” of goodness. Believers, the Bible makes it simple. “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” (2 Tim 4:2) I pray we will get back to preaching God’s holy word without compromise.
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.” (Rev 21:27)
