A Short Testimony

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: 

and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

 I was on the path of destruction –

 not so many years ago 

  No one on earth would stop me –

 for most I knew, didn’t know

 Of a person whose name is Jesus –

  who was God here, in the flesh

 Who gave His life at Calvary –

  so I might start my life afresh

 So many people told me – they believed in God on high

 But they lived their lives so worldly – and much to my surprise

 When I surrendered my life to Jesus –

  they laughed and  called me names

 And turned themselves away from me – 

 like I had put them to some shame

When I spoke the name of Jesus – it angered many friends

 But Jesus said it would be that way – just before the end

 He came to bring division (Luke 12:51) 

and to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)

 Yet He wants no one to perish (2 Pet 3:9)

and that’s why He paid the cost

So although so many pity me – for the way I lead my life

I have a peace and calmness (1 Tim 2:1-2) – amidst this worldly strife

I have a home I’m moving to (John 14:1-3) – when my time is nigh

I’ll be living up in Heaven – with my LORD on high

So Christmastime is special – in a most wonderful kind of way

I celebrate Christ’s birth on earth – not santa, and not sleighs

For God so loved the world – He sent His Son, to us, to save

If only we’d receive Him (John 1:12) – and call upon His name

So with that said, I want you to know – I think of you this season

As we celebrate His birth on earth – we do it for just that reason

He sits right now, on His heavenly throne (Matt 19:28)  – awaiting for the time

When He’ll come back, to get His own (1 Thess 4:17) – 

"Now to me “that’s Christmastime”

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved

(Rom 10:13)
